Our students had an amazing time at the park exploring science through play by launching a Rubber Band Flying Cup—also known as the Flying UFO Cup! As the connected cups spin through the air, they demonstrate the Magnus Effect, a fascinating scientific principle. The spinning motion creates a difference in air pressure, generating lift—similar to the way a baseball curveball changes its path.
