Easter Science Challenge
More Than a Mother's Day Gift
Students didn't simply make a gift.
They explored art, baking, chemistry, and gratitude through meaningful projects.
They baked carnation-inspired cookies, designed beautiful pop-up flower cards, and grew crystal roses while discovering how crystals form through crystallization.
Every activity connected creativity with science—and reminded students that learning can also express love.
A Craft. A Game. A Physics Lesson.
Students designed adorable bunny-themed crafts, then transformed them into a fun science challenge by using a straw to keep a lightweight ball floating through different target rings.
While they were playing, they were also exploring air pressure, airflow, balance, and forces.
The moving air from the straw creates a fast stream around the ball. This airflow helps keep the ball suspended and stable, while students adjust the direction and strength of their breath to guide it through the course. At the same time, they practice hand-eye coordination, concentration, and problem-solving.
Science is most memorable when children experience it for themselves.

Success Stories from Our Kids
My child attends the Kids Elite after-school program while she's in kindergarten, and I couldn't be happier with her experience. She comes home buzzing with excitement, eager to share about their latest projects in AI storytelling and web design. What I love most about Kids Elite is their philosophy that learning shouldn't be confined by age. They embrace mixed-age classrooms and emphasize teamwork in many activities. As a result, my child's abilities and perspectives have advanced beyond her peers'. She's now tackling math at a second-grade level and absolutely loves it.
Another aspect I appreciate is how Kids Elite seamlessly blends learning with outdoor activities. Located just across from the Lincoln park, they frequently incorporate outdoor play and exploration into their curriculum. From collecting samples for microscopic observation to engaging in outdoor classes, they strike a perfect balance between education and recreation. Most importantly, my child is happy and genuinely enjoys learning.
I'm particularly impressed by Kids Elite's initiative to showcase student work on platforms like YouTube and their own website. It's a fantastic opportunity for children to share their creations with a wider audience. If you're curious, you can check out some of the AI storytelling on their YouTube
My son has been attending the after school program and the summer camps at Kids Elite for the past 2 years. In addition to the enriching program, I am impressed that Kids Elite has been able to assemble a group of likeminded kids that are so disciplined; there are no bullies, bad behavior, or distracting antics, and the kids can concentrate on learning and doing projects.
One thing that I love about Kids Elite is that the older students are given responsibilities as an instructor and they lead and teach younger students. My son is building confidence and learning important leadership skills that he wouldn't have learned in a regular school setting or after care program.
We have tried multiple other after care and camps around Alameda and truly this is the best option.
My son looks forward to going to Kids Elite everyday, and loves all the teachers there. Kids Elite is the best!
Kids Elite has been amazing for our son. He entered kindergarten this year and we needed an afterschool care solution. Since we had just moved, we were unable to find somewhere to take him which is initially why we opted for Kids Elite because they had a space for him. What a stroke of luck!
He is a big lover of science and art and has flourished with the help of the attentive staff. He comes home every day so excited to tell us all about the project he completed that afternoon. Even though he is one of the younger kids at the school, he has formed friendships with all of the kids, even the older ones. The staff really strives for kindness and respect as a pillar of their program and it shows. They also do an excellent job of communicating how the students are doing and even go above and beyond customizing some of the curriculum based on kids' interests. If we had to do it over again, we'd choose Kids Elite again in a heartbeat. We truly could not recommend them enough.
